A Special Kind of Stupid

Today being day number twelve of April, we looked up Proverbs Chapter12:1. “Whoever loves instruction loves knowledge, But he who hates correction is stupid”. Hmmm. They’re just two words –“fool” and “stupid” that cause us to feel an immediate “Ouch”.

But there seems to be good reason for the rebuke of stupid. And it’s a special kind. See, because it has to do with correction, we sense an urge to avoid missing out on any information that follows.

However, since we’re human, the proclivity or possibility of missing information is merely a matter of time.

Yup. Messing up and or missing information is not an if, it’s just a when…And when we mess up, or miss information, or make a mistake, we do well to welcome the assist of whoever has the ability or the knowledge to “set us straight” again.

Mind you, it’s in the DNA of humankind to not want to be wrong – about anything. And we’re not alone. Scripture says way, way back in time Lucifer gave himself a bright idea. But rather than ‘stop right then and there’ to realize it was ever so far from a bright and right idea – Lucifer gazed at his Creator and recklessly decided:

I will become God”. And voila, just like that. Way up in the heavens, began creation’s first:

Special kind of stupid. And, it immediately became infectious. Lucifer stupidity infected a huge number of lower angels who rather than reject his rationale, also wasted their God given ability to choose between right and wrong...

So, the day arrived when as head of his vast rebel army, Lucifer mounted his attack.

And was soundly defeated.

Some clue to the blind stupidity of Lucifer and his rebel army consisting of a third of original angels, may be seen in 2 Corinthians 5:6. Therefore we are always confident, although we know that while we are at home in the body, we are away from the Lord. 7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.

As such, our entire system of reasoning morphs into flesh or body based. Faith as a lifestyle becomes replaced. Although fidelity to God was obviously Lucifer’s resource for excellent existence and reason, he chose to swap faith in God for a physical, self-centered desire and greed to be King of kings.

While it appears hard to imagine the why of his choice, we see the result as cited in Isaiah 14:12, Ezekiel 28:16, Revelation 12:7-9 KNJV

“How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, You who weakened the nations”!

Two key aspects related the fate of Lucifer and his rebel army comprising one third of original angels, are 1. They are superior to humans. Note: The fire blazed up toward the sky, and the LORD's angel went up toward heaven in the fire. Manoah and his wife bowed down low when they saw what happened. Judges 13:20

2.Given such superiority, God’s judgement of eternal punishment for Satan, formerly Lucifer and his rebel army is just. For God cannot be unjust. And because He cannot be unjust, God prepared an alternative to humankind’s later coalition with Satan. He’d expertly tricked Adam’s inferior race into his dastardly rebellion.

So, our Just Jealous God entered earth as Jesus to salvage mankind per John 3:16.

Key for human spirits now is awareness. Awareness “The just shall live (forever) by faith. Otherwise, as fools (people who chose to ignore the reality and salvific purpose of God) and spend their first life on earth apart from Him, will be doomed to continue doing so in a place called Hell.

Because spirits do not die.

Today, avoiding a special kind of stupid is easy. It merely requires a decision to avoid the folly of Adam and Eve, our first parents in Eden, and accept the correction God put in place for clueless humankind.

Avoiding the eternal penalty intended for Satan and his rebel army of demons. Such refusal of God’s salvation is eerily, the catastrophic kind of stupid. Dr B, aka Carlton.     041225
